More April Treasuries

Here are a few more recent treasuries to share and say

A BIG THANK YOU

for.

I am always grateful and honoured to be included
Thanks so much Clare of Decadent and Fabulous for this very seasonal treasury 'The Seaside'. Thanks for including my seaglass pendant. This has me planning what to make myself for my own summer vacation.....

I felt like making a treasury myself. This one features artists and suppliers from the Top Treasury Team, of which I am a member. It's called 'Dark Pool.'
Thanks Lynn of Lynn's Creative Crochet for 'Some Mommies Love to Wear Bling.' Delighted to see my brown gemstone necklace, Nature, in there with all these gorgeous pieces...
....and thank you Lynn for featuring my work in a second treasury this week: 'Very Berry'. Delighted to see my garnet pendant 'Strawberry Wine' there with all these juicy items. Much appreciated Lynn.
And a big thanks goes to Gayle of Whatshername for this pretty treasury. I appreciate that you thought to include my seaglass pendant with these lovelies.

Currency Switch for Handmade by Amo'r on Etsy

ANNOUNCEMENT
The majority of customers to my Etsy shop, Handmade by Amo'r are in the USA, particularly my regular customers who show amazing loyalty. So I decided to experiment with switching the currency I operate in back to US dollars, as I did in the beginning.

LISTINGS ARE IN DOLLARS, BUT CONVERSIONS TO YOUR CURRENCY ARE ALSO VISIBLE
Non US residents can of course also see the price in the currency they have chosen for viewing Etsy Listings, eg. Euro, Pound, etc. In future, Etsy will be be making changes so you can only see the prices in your chosen currency. Please note, the conversions will not be rounded up or down to the nearest unit by Etsy so the prices may look a little strange in other currencies (eg this pendant or charm is $13 and converts to €10.27. )

I would love to hear your feedback or comments. Thank you!

Caught My Eye 15. Screaming House

Caught My Eye  is series of blog posts showing scenes I found interesting, odd, curious or beautiful. I am not a photographer, so please do not expect top quality photography :-). But please enjoy a glimpse of the world through my eyes
This photo from my break in Rosses Point last year that made me smile. Don't know if it's just me and my wild imagination but does this ruin look to you like a screaming house? It might make a good setting for a horror movie....

Spill the Beads

Don't you just love handy tips that are so simple they are stupid-clever?  Here's one for when your necklace snaps and the beads or pearls scatter to the four corners of the room. It's also a great trick for beaders like me, who can have a clumsy moment and drop or knock over a box of beads onto the floor. Don't you know they will go in several directions at once, rolling into all sorts of awkward recesses, and under furniture.  What a nightmare it can be to retrieve them all.

When my cousin shared this simple tip I just wanted to slap my forehead and go 'Duh!' Why had I never thought of it myself?
Slip a piece of old stocking or nylon suit sock onto the end of the hoover hose and secure it with a rubber band or pony tie.
Turn the hoover on and run it around into all those corners, under the couch etc and voila, all your beads are gathered up with little effort! Ta da!!

Now I think I'll just give these ones a good wash and make a summer bracelet with them......

Inspired by the Everyday Visual

Celtic symbols feature a lot in my jewellery designs. It's not just because I'm Irish and proud of my heritage. I reckon that these Celtic motifs embedded on a public street wall not far from my home have silently crept into my subconscious and out through my work. After all, artists are much inspired by what they see as well as what they feel. I have walked past this artwork at least a thousand times over. How could they not have influence my designs?

Caught My Eye 14. Dun Laoghaire

Caught My Eye  is series of blog posts showing scenes I found interesting, odd, curious or beautiful. I am not a photographer, so please do not expect top quality photography :-). But please enjoy a glimpse of the world through my eyes.
While out walking at Dun Laoghaire harbour in the Autumn last year, the rusty boat in the distance caught my attention. Here are a few more details that caught my eye that day:
More rusty metal
North pier,Dunlaoire, with the more popular, South pier in the background

the marina
All very scenic and nice, until I honed in this:
