Featured in ETSY Treasuries, March.

Here are a few more recent treasuries to share and say
A BIG THANK YOU
for.
I am always grateful and honoured to be included.

Like every March, Etsy has gone very green in the run up to St Patrick's Day. It's so wonderful to see so many crafty people around the world acknowledging our tiny green isle. Thank you so much!
A big thank you Amy of Buy Me For You Uk   for this lovely Irish-themed treasury 'St Patrick's Day - My Way'. I'm very happy to see my Sea glass pendant featured.

Thank you, fellow Irish crafter, Mo of Huggle Knits for 'A Taste of Irish Style', a beautifully put together collection of quality, Irish crafts. Delighted to see my Connemara marble heart pendant included. Wishing Mo every success with the relaunch of her second Etsy store 'An Siopa Beag'. Drop in for knitting supplies and crafty bits n bobs....

..and then Mo included me in another treasury. Take a closer look at 'Old New Irish and Blue' and  see how cleverly it was done...vintage, handmade, Irish and then blue. Thanks Mo for including my Connemara marble earrings.

Thank you Laura of  Beadsnbrooches for including my copper & sea pottery pendant in 'Ireland Through My Eyes.'  What a pretty vision of Ireland this treasury is.

And the same sea pottery pendant just got featured in this stunning treasury by  Susan of Art Once Again. As one of the items from the treasury is gone already, it would  have been lopsided now, and I'm getting a bit ocd about such things :-) but I decided to try out this new treasury app, which allowed me to display in 3 collumns. Also, you can click directly into the items if you wish. Beautiful colours Susan. Thanks so much!

A big Irish hello goes to Mil, Vam and Pam of Three Sisters Create. Thank you so much for including my Conneamara marble earrings in this timely treasury, titled 'Irish Luck.'
This refreshing green treasury aptly titled 'Botanical' is by Dori of Hunkii Dorri. Thanks for Dori for including my green and black necklace 'Betwitched.' (Clever shop name btw!)

Spring Greens. Work in Progress

After the Christmas break, I've mainly been working on custom pieces for people I know. Yesterday evening I finally got down to a crafty session to replenish diminished stock in my Etsy shop. I realised I was almost out of Connemara marble pendants so knuckled down to make a couple of pieces with St Patrick's Day in mind. Naturally, green has got to be the colour of the moment!
My Celtic heart pendants are always popular. This is a beautiful piece of Connemara marble.
This stunning specimen of Connemara marble is a once-off piece. I was inspired to make this Celtic Pub Ornament by one of my best and (am I allowed to say?) favourite customers. ;-) You know who you are...
I will shortly be listing this zesty pendant made from sea pottery that I found on a Dublin beach. It is a fresh, lime colour that will look fabulous with a white T-shirt, or a summer dress. It will also stand out against that LBD, making a simple, chic statement.
And just to prove there really are 40 shades of green, this OOAK Connemara marble pendant falls at the other end of the verdant spectrum. It is a very cool shade with typical, grayish marbling. The dark, February weather here in Dublin makes it a challenge to photograph, but I've done my best to capture it.  I hope to list this special Sterling silver Claddagh and Connemara marble pendant this week. This is very much, one of a kind and will not be repeated. The stone was cut specially for me by a Galway mason. The solid silver charm is vintage from the 80s and the only one I have.

Re Etsy Ireland Treasure Hunt latest update

Hi there, first of all, the rules of the Etsy Ireland Treasure Hunt are now up on the team blog: Click here for an update on the Etsy Ireland aka Crafty Ireland Team blog

The photo is of the Connemara marble and sterling silver pendant that I donated as one of the prizes. 18 team members have donated handcrafted work, which will be divided among 4 lucky winners.
Just thought I'd give you a close up of the pendant. It is a very unique and modern, Irish, Statement pendant, yet is based on traditional, Celtic geometric design.  The triangular slab of Connemara marble is smooth and highly polished. It is a fabulous, natural mid green with pale grey and lime marbling. The stone was cut specially for me by a Galway artisan mason and is approx 1.5 inches long.

I formed the spiral using solid sterling silver wire, then hammered it for strength. All the metal components of  the pendant including the 18 inch chain are .925 sterling silver as stamped on the tag.  I incorporated clear moss agate beads into the links at the back.

This Celtic pendant was made especially for the treasure hunt. I am sure it will go to a good home. Be sure to enter the competition on the  Etsy Ireland blog on St Patrick's Day, March 17th!

I will be listing similar (but not the same) pendants in my Etsy shop shortly. This short article about Connemara marble that I posted on my other, Fondelifair blog & Irish online store  may be of interest to you.

Wheeeee looking forward to March 17th!

Etsy Ireland Treasure Hunt

Is there treasure at the end of the rainbow?

Well for a few lucky winners there will be!

The Crafty Ireland team are organising a treasure hunt for St. Patrick's Day! 17 Etsy Ireland crafters, including me, are donating a prize. So follow the team blog and/or my blog for updates then join in the fun on Paddy's Day, March 17.

I'm not sure yet what I am donating to this game but will be making something special along the lines found in my Etsy store. Be sure to check back for updates before March 17th!

(And by the by, the photo is a real Irish rainbow, taken when I was hiking near Lough Dan, Wicklow last Autumn. Read about my inspirational hike to Lough Dan on my Fondelifair blog.)

Treasury Time Again. Promoting Irish on Etsy

Earlier this month, I posted In the Green Corner, a sampling of green treasuries (curated collections on Etsy) that included items made by me. With St Patrick's day looming, I couldn't let the month go by without creating a green, all Irish treasury of my own. So here it is, The Brass is Always Greener.

Today I needed an antidote to all the fabulous shades of green and went for black and red with a hint of browns, blues and only a tiny dash of green to show that there is more to Ireland than shamrocks. Hidden Geometry again showcases work from fellow Irish crafters, photographers, suppliers and sellers of vintage belonging to the Crafty Ireland Team.

Inspired by Beadbash Ireland's gorgeous button bouquet, this collection explores the very simple geometric shapes that sometimes go unnoticed, but are always there in our everyday world.

In The Green Corner

In February Etsy tends to turn a fantastic, vibrant green with St. Patrick's Day looming ahead of us. Great for me as my Etsy store is nearly always bursting with forty shades of green and more than one Celtic spiral motif at any time of the year. I'm very fond of local, Irish materials such as Connemara marble , Cork red marble,  Kilkenny Black marble and Irish beach glass foraged from the shore. I love Ireland and I'm proud to promote Irish! And if we are deemed to be green then bring on the greens I say!

This Kelly green, seaglass pendant, 'Emerald of the Sea' was listed yesterday and was soon featured in a couple of beautiful green Etsy treasuries. (showcase collections of Etsy items artistically curated by Etsy members).

Don't you just love the zesty limes and fresh Spring greens in  St. Patrick Approves by Lou City Goods ?

Cool Stuff for St. Patrick's Day by ccdesigns09 Creations by Carol is an eclectic mix of international items in fresh verdes.

In the USA, Lynn Corrigan of Lynn's Creative Crochet sent some love to Ireland with Forty Shades of Green-Johnny Cash's Valentine to Ireland (Thanks for featuring my Connemara marble pendant)

Craft of Ireland by fellow Irish Etsonian, Traban tastefully showcases stunning work from members of the Crafty Ireland Team (It's an honour to have my green and black necklace included among such treasures.)

Another Irish Etsonian, Bead Bash Ireland captured zingy Spring greens and lemons with Spring In My Step

So far I haven't tackled an-all green treasury. However, I did recently put together my own, quirky take on Spring treasuries:
