Another Seaglass Bottle Stopper

I can't believe I found another, intact, seaglass stopper!! OK, technically I didn't find it. I was standing right beside it, obliviously examining a piece of sea pottery I'd just picked up off the sand. It was my Etsy friend Heli of Heli MG Tufted Luxury whose sharp eyes honed in on it. She pounced on it yelping in excitement and nearly frightened the life out of me. Heli generously gave the coveted treasure to me to add to my collection of rare finds.

The stopper on the left is one I found a bit further up the coast a few weeks back. It has a pointier nose and a small flaw on the under rim. This latest find is also a seafoam colour, has a rounder stalk and  is perfectly intact. Both are beautifully frosted by the sea and must be very old. Last month I wrote up a post explaining a little about this type of sauce bottle stopper. To read it CLICK HERE

There are some pieces I just can't bring myself to wire wrap into jewellery and I keep them to be admired just as they are. This is one of those special finds. Though our other beach combing companion, Mo of Huggle Knits, suggested I wire up some sort of stand to hold it in. Great idea and a new challenge for me to try out. I have a few designs floating in my head now.

Featured on Etsy Ireland Team Blog

Thank you to Molly of MollysVintageJewelry for inviting me to contribute to the series Eyes Open Ireland on the Etsy Ireland Team Blog and for posting my photos today. This is a series where team members send photos of their favourite, inspiring places and of scenes that fire their creativity. It's one of my favourite slots on the team blog.

Click on the photo above to hop over to the team blog and see the article and more of my photos. (This photo is of street art on a wall not too far from where I live in Dublin. No wonder I use a lot of Celtic spirals and swirls in my jewelry as I pass this several times a week.)

I noticed that Molly hasn't even mentioned herself or posted a link to her shop on the article, yet she is the volunteer who goes in search of team members to feature, communicates back and forth, sorts the final arrangement of photos, and sends to one of the editors, Lily of Petal to Petal or (newly volunteered) Karla of Nicobel who then post it up. Thanks to all 3 girls for your efforts.
Vintage Estate Yellow Enamel Daisy Clip On Earrings
So as a thank you, I'm showing off my favourite item from Molly's shop. I know very little about vintage jewelry, but these cool yellow daisy earrings look very 60s to me?? I love them!

Caught My Eye 13 Reservoir Run-Off.

It's been a while since I did a post in the Caught My Eye series, where I share my (amateur) shots of something unusual, bizarre or of natural beauty. That's mainly because I haven't been out and about with my camera much due to a sore foot. However, I was looking through some photos from my walks last year and found I've got quite a few photos to include in this series.
Here's another scene from my walk around Bothernabreena lakes last summer. This is a shot of the brownish water being channelled down from the reservoir.  The colour of mountain water in the East and Midlands of Ireland is due to the boggy peat in the soil.
It's hard to believe this beautiful place is a stones throw away from the busy suburb of Tallaght, in Dublin, isn't it? You can get close enough to it by taking the 49 bus from the city centre. It's only about an hour.

Featured in ETSY Treasuries, March.

Here are a few more recent treasuries to share and say
A BIG THANK YOU
for.
I am always grateful and honoured to be included.

Like every March, Etsy has gone very green in the run up to St Patrick's Day. It's so wonderful to see so many crafty people around the world acknowledging our tiny green isle. Thank you so much!
A big thank you Amy of Buy Me For You Uk   for this lovely Irish-themed treasury 'St Patrick's Day - My Way'. I'm very happy to see my Sea glass pendant featured.

Thank you, fellow Irish crafter, Mo of Huggle Knits for 'A Taste of Irish Style', a beautifully put together collection of quality, Irish crafts. Delighted to see my Connemara marble heart pendant included. Wishing Mo every success with the relaunch of her second Etsy store 'An Siopa Beag'. Drop in for knitting supplies and crafty bits n bobs....

..and then Mo included me in another treasury. Take a closer look at 'Old New Irish and Blue' and  see how cleverly it was done...vintage, handmade, Irish and then blue. Thanks Mo for including my Connemara marble earrings.

Thank you Laura of  Beadsnbrooches for including my copper & sea pottery pendant in 'Ireland Through My Eyes.'  What a pretty vision of Ireland this treasury is.

And the same sea pottery pendant just got featured in this stunning treasury by  Susan of Art Once Again. As one of the items from the treasury is gone already, it would  have been lopsided now, and I'm getting a bit ocd about such things :-) but I decided to try out this new treasury app, which allowed me to display in 3 collumns. Also, you can click directly into the items if you wish. Beautiful colours Susan. Thanks so much!
