Stocking Up for Christmas

Nope, I don't have my Christmas stocking hanging up already. But I am stocking up my Etsy shop with festive Irish ornaments as fast as I can. Quite a few have gone already, some before they even reached my shop, so grab them while you can!

My store will be closing for the holidays a little early this year as I commence a night course in a couple of weeks. So seriously, if you like what you see......you know what to do!

My Irish sea glass fairy / angels would make a very unique gift. They are not just for Christmas as they double up as sun catchers when the festivities are over.

It's That Time Again....

Yes I know Hallowe'en hasn't passed yet, but any clued-in online craft workers like myself will know that it's actually a tad late to be only starting on my Christmas items now. Year in, year out, the silly season hits us smack in the face before we've even dusted off our winter boots and unearthed the woollies. It simply swoops in out of nowhere, bringing a whirlwind with it and is over and gone before you have a chance to pen your own little wish list to Santa. At least I've made a start:

Gift Ornaments, Fairies and Charms

Handmade by Amo'r is not just about jewellery and accessories. I also make wire wrapped ornaments, fairies, suncatchers and other pretty things to decorate your home, your festive tree or hang on your rear view mirror.
Sea Glass Suncatcher from Ireland. Irish Beach Glass Ornament or Pendant
Irish Sea Glass Suncatcher, ornament or pendant
Sea glass makes great suncatchers and Christmas ornaments as it looks spectacular with the light shining through it. I keep mine simple and versatile. You can choose where to hang it and if you prefer, you can even put it on your favourite chain and wear this one as a pendant.

Seaglass Fairy Suncatcher, Christmas Ornament, Rear View Mirror Charm or Pendant
sea glass and crystal fairy
I teamed this drilled sea glass with silver componants and pink crystal to make a cute fairy. It will catch the light beautifully. The crystal adds extra sparkle and would be perfect for hanging in a little girl's bedroom. It would make a realy cool thank you gift for a young bridesmaid or flower girl.
Pink Heart Ornament for Girl's Bedroom, Baptism Gift, Rear View Mirror Charm, Valentines
So too will this pink heart and crystal ornament. But again, a grown up could wear either of these ornaments as pendants. Alternatively you could hang them on your Christmas tree or on the car rear view mirror.

SALE Snowflake on Tree Decoration. Connemara Marble Ornament from Ireland.
Connemara marble is a rare stone found only in the West of Ireland. It comes in varieties of green from a faint white-wash to darkest forest green with 40 shades of lime and leaf in between.  This piece is a soft, pale green with grey and white marbling and lime speckles. It was carved by a Galway mason.

I flattened the snow flake shape from a silver cap bead using a chasing hammer and wrapped it onto the tree with silver plate. The crimson glass bead above will catch the twinkle of fairy lights beautifully. It has an ornate, silver plate hook for hanging. Just latch the ornament onto the branch or use a ribbon or tie if you prefer.

This handmade ornament would make a thoughtful gift for an Irish family or friend abroad.

Busy Elving Away

Celtic Connemara marble tree ornament
Just a quick update on how I am getting on with the Christmas ornaments. Yes it really is that time of year for online business. It just comes out of nowhere and blind-sides us every year, but I still can't help but get excited about it! Making cute things brings out the inner child in me.

Like many of Etsy store owners, I am busy, busy, busy like an elf getting ready for the festive season. I've listed a few Irish,Christmas ornaments this weekend but have a hole heap more to make and to list...I wonder if I will ever get there? I'm particularly happy with how the seaglass is turning out, especially a small piece I found on Dublin shore, that looks like a stocking or boot.
Watch this space for more...

More Fairies Listed

This summer I introduced whimsical fairy ornaments and buttterfly and angel charms into my Etsy shop. This week a few new ones have fluttered in:

This pink butterfly fairy charm is made with real coral. She comes on a cell phone charm and can be hung on your bag, used as a zip pull or ornament or attached to your rear view mirror.

This larger, cobalt blue fairy or angel is just as versatile. She would make a stunning sun catcher too as the light really picks out the deep sapphire of the vintage glass beads. She comes on a rubber tie for hanging, but I can remove it if you prefer to use your own ribbon or to wear her as a pendant.
And this seaglass butterfly fairy is very special as she is made with vintage, Irish seaglass that I picked up on the shore here in Dublin. Again, she can be used as an ornament, sun catcher, rear view mirror charm or worn as a pendant.

Watch this spot as more will fly in over the next couple of months......
